series of interactive augmented reality animations

The animations are activated when scanned by the Artivive app, the app is free to download and use on a smartphone or tablet from https://artivive.com. Stop motion animated, the AR characters are built with collected city debris from the streets of Berlin, DE. Each animation depicts native wildlife, flora or fauna historically situated in the past, present or folkloric tales. JJ1, the project’s namesake, was a wild bear that had wandered into Bavaria from Northern Italy in 2006. He was believed to have been the first wild brown bear on German soil in 170 years.

Anita Berber Park, formally St.-Thomas-Friedhof, the area became part of the landing path of airplanes to Tempelhofer Feld Airport. In 2015, the district of Neukölln initiated a public participation process with the aim of carefully developing the green space.
In 2017, 20 different breeding bird species were recorded in the park, including the nightingale.

Landschaftspark Johannisthal/Adlershof
The park is integrated into the development of the adjacent district of Adlershof, which has been expanded as a location for technology, media and science for about 15 years now. The green spaces are intended to bring "nature conservation, play and recreation into harmony".

The Urbanhafen is a former inland harbour of the Landwehr Canal in the Berlin district of Kreuzberg. After the decline in economic importance, the harbour was temporarily used as a track for motorboat races, and also after losing economic advantages, it gained parallel a transformation into a green corridor.

Kingfisher bird is historically used as representation of abundance, prosperity, and love. Böhmischer Platz> as a result of the Rixdorf traffic concept, the square was closed to car traffic and is now a pure pedestrian zone.

Firebugs, Pyrrhocoris apterus, frequently observed to form aggregations, especially as immature forms, containing from tens to perhaps a hundred individuals. Located at Alexander Platz, with more than 360,000 passers-by daily.

Located at Reuterplatz, depicts excerpts of Cassiopeia’s advice to Momo, the turtle belonging to Master Hora in Micheal Ende’s novel Momo. Out of context, the guiding text oscillates between an anti-apathetic rally, sympathetic, or dissolution of hope. In this area, there exists an unemployment rate of 35%, is a hot-spot nightlife district, gentrification, and is considered (one of many) social problem areas of Berlin. 16.5% of the population are children.

JJ1.10 .: 52.52263° N, 13.41939° E wild flowers at Haus der Statistik, a building complex that was built between 1968 and 1970 as the headquarters of the GDR's State Central Administration for Statistics. Federal German authorities used the buildings after reunification, but ceased occupation in 2008. The Wildenbruchbrücke in Berlin-Neukölln is a street bridge of the Wildenbruchstraße crossing the Neuköllner Schiffahrtskanal (canal) and connecting the Kiehl- and Weigandufer.
